Frequently asked questions.

How and where do we meet?

Our studio is located at 753 Port Road, Woodville South SA 5011. Free parking is available on site. The studio can also be accessed by bus with bus stop 20 right out the front of the premises. Toilets are available on site.

How can I prepare for acupuncture?

It is important that you have eaten something before you come for a treatment.

Acupuncture isn’t recommended on an empty stomach. A small snack will be fine if you don’t have time to eat a meal.

Ensure you are wearing comfortable clothing that you will be able to relax on the table with after the insertion of your needles. Your practitioner may require you to expose various parts of your body, however, we use appropriate towel draping, so you won’t be exposed.

As tongue diagnosis is an important element to this medicine, we ask for you to avoid cleaning or scrapping prior to your visit.

Is acupuncture safe and will it hurt?

Acupuncture is safe when performed by a registered practitioner. The needles are disposable, pre-sterilised and individually packaged.

Regulars of acupuncture often describe it as a surprisingly relaxing experience, due to the endorphins release. The needles are hair thin and some report feeling a slight quick pinch, whilst others don’t feel a thing!

When your body begins to adjust you may feel tingling or a dull heavy sensation at the sight of insertion. This is completely normal and often a positive indication that the Qi has arrived.

I don’t want acupuncture - I just want cupping/guasha/massage

That’s totally fine! You can book through the same way and discuss with Caterina what you would like.
